I love the idea of re-purposing objects that are no longer either functional or attractive to you. We will hopefully be moving into our new home soon and extra money for decorating and re-modeling will be tight. This is where re-purposing is going to become essential to us having the home of our dreams.
Anyways, I just wanted to share a great re-purposing project I found over at Martha Stewart.com. Turning a blanket chest into a filing cabinet is ingenious! The entire design of my future office is centered around it not looking too, ummm, officey (yea, new word) and I cannot stand the look of filing cabinets.

I think this will do a fine job of solving that problem! If you decide to complete this project, don’t go out and buy a new chest. These things are always popping up at thrift stores and yard sales. Make sure you keep it on the cheap for added satisfaction!
