Living Room Re-do

Renovations and decorating have been moving soooo slowly on the new (old) house. I’m blaming it on winter. This limited amount of sunlight completely bums me out.

But glorious Spring is right around the corner and the days are getting longer so things are starting to move along again. Hallelujah!

We bought this sectional about a month ago, right before the Superbowl. I had my mind-set on a grey sectional with tufting and this fit the bill nicely.

It’s actually a deeper gray than this picture portrays, but you get the picture. It is also huge, lots of seating for everybody that comes over.

I’ve been flip-flopping on what color to paint the walls. The back half of our old house is actually a renovation from the seventies. The ceilings are really low and there is very little natural light so I needed a color that’s going to reflect what light does filter in and is close enough to the color of our popcorn (ughhhh) ceiling to make it appear taller.

I think I’ve finally decided on this color from Benjamin Moore:

The name is more than appropriate since I hail from the land of Moonshine. We even have an entire festival dedicated to that nasty liquid. I promise.

Here are a couple of examples of what it look likes in action:

Since the kitchen and living room are open, they will have to share the same color.

This picture is from Young House Love. I have read their blog before so maybe the idea for the sectional came from them. Definitely wouldn’t surprise me. If so, theirs isn’t tufted (na na na na na)! Mmmm, I love me some tufting! Click on the above picture to be taken to their site, they really do have a great design aesthetic.

Anyways back to the paint, you can see how the paint reflects light in the upper picture, that’s exactly what we need in our back dungeon, I’ll update with actual pictures once its done!

Hey there! I just stumbled across your blog, and I am in LOVE with your grey sectional. I am in the market for a new sectional, and this one looks perfect. Where is it from? Is it comfortable? I love the grey, and I love the tufting. Thanks!

Hi, thanks for reading my blog! The sectional is from Rooms to Go, not somewhere I usually look for furniture but they really hit it out of the park with this one. It is super comfy, I have to drag my husband and son off of it every evening to go to bed! Hope you have a great day!

      Warmest Regards,
      Elizabeth
