Couponing, Frugality

Publix Trip- October 18, 2011

Here’s my haul from Publix last night.  It’s not my best trip ever, I had the little one with me. I don’t advise taking children with you when you are shopping, they can be REALLY distracting.

Overall I did well, there weren’t a ton of coupon match-ups this ad so hopefully next weeks will be better.

So here’s what I got:

  • 2 Northland Super Fruits Juices (combined BOGO with $1/1 coupon)= 1.08 each
  • 1 box Townhouse Keebler Crackers: BOGO, no coupon= $1.85
  • 2 boxes of Jimmy Dean Biscuits 4 count: BOGO +  $.75/1= $1.91 each
  • 3 Bounce Dryer Bars: .75/1= $4.24 each (kind of expensive but my coupon was about to expire and this was a pretty decent deal on these)
  • 6 Green Giant Valley Fresh Steamers: BOGO +  .50/2 (which doubled)= .79 each
  • 4 Publix yogurt: On sale for .40 a piece
  • Publix Sour Cream= .99 (not on sale)
  • Publix Sweet Cream Butter= 3.19 (not on sale, ouch.)
  • 2 Gallons Publix Milk= 3.39 each (double ouch)

I didn’t get any fresh fruits or vegetables this trip due to the little one driving me absolutely bonkers.

So my total would have been $72.52 without the sale prices and coupons.

I ended up paying $39.83 which is approximately a 46% savings.  The full price milk, butter and sour cream decreased my savings a little. Without those I would have probably been at over 50% savings.
